Hand fabricated jewelry has been my passion for more than a decade.
From the beginning I have been captivated by the experience of coaxing images out a solid sheet of metal with my saw, hammer, and torch.
When I discovered photo-etching and roller-printing, I was able to expand the scope of my imagery and add texture to my jewelry.
In recent years I have enjoyed doing more and more work with enamel, exploring the possibilities that come with the addition of color to my metal work.

Most of the creative impulse for my jewelry design comes in one way or another from nature.
The color of a stone or an unexpected reaction of enamel colors may evoke an image of a flock of birds or a cherry blossom branch.
A pelican diving into the bay or crows on a telephone wire can send me rushing into the studio to capture the moment.

It is rewarding when those who wear my jewelry are reminded of their connection with the natural world and with the value of the creative process.
I believe a handmade piece of jewelry connects the artist to the wearer, and brings both into touch with the elemental beauty in the world around us.
